What Causes a Lack of Self-Trust? (And How to Start Rebuilding It)

What Causes a Lack of Self-Trust? (And How to Start Rebuilding It)

by mystic | Jun 5, 2026 | Healing, Trust, Wellness

Have you ever asked five people for their opinion before making a decision? Maybe you’ve spent days weighing the pros and cons of something that should have taken minutes. Maybe you’ve ignored a gut feeling only to realize later that you knew the answer...

How Do I Begin to Trust Myself Again? Practical Steps to Rebuild Self-Trust

by mystic | May 28, 2026 | Healing, Trust, Wellness

Most people do not realize they have stopped trusting themselves until even small decisions feel exhausting. What should I say? What if I upset someone? Am I overreacting? What if I make the wrong decision? So instead of listening to themselves, they look outside...

Embracing Life As It Is: The Power of Radical Acceptance

by mystic | Apr 8, 2025 | Healing, Wellness

In a world filled with challenges and constant change, it can be easy to struggle against reality. But what if there was another way to navigate life’s ups and downs? Recently, during a deep conversation with a member of my crew, we explored the concept of radical...
One of the biggest misconceptions about change is One of the biggest misconceptions about change is that it happens all at once.

In my experience, it rarely does.

More often, it looks like:

Saying no when you would have said yes.

Taking a break instead of pushing through.

Trusting your first instinct.

Speaking up when you would have stayed quiet.

Asking for help.

Resting when your body needs it.

Making one small choice that future you will thank you for.

None of those moments seem life-changing on their own.

But over time, they add up.

A different response becomes a different habit.

A different habit becomes a different experience.

And eventually, you realize your life feels different—not because of one big decision, but because of hundreds of small ones.

You don't have to change everything.

You simply have to keep choosing differently when the opportunity appears.

And sometimes having the right support, tools, and community makes those choices a little easier.

Doors to Whispers of Knowing will be opening soon.

If you'd like to be first to know when they open, make sure you're on the waitlist.

This week's conversations left me thinking about s This week's conversations left me thinking about something.

So many people already know what they want to do.

They know the conversation they need to have.

The boundary they need to set.

The decision they've been avoiding.

The thing they want to try.

The challenge isn't always knowing.

Sometimes the challenge is trusting ourselves enough to take the next step.

So here's a question to sit with today:

What would change if you trusted yourself just a little more?

The reason people stay is never what they expect. The reason people stay is never what they expect.

This week my community reminded me why I created it in the first place.

During one of our gatherings, a member shared a struggle they were having.

Immediately, others responded with compassion, understanding, and support.

Later, when another member shared a win, the group erupted with cheers, encouragement, and virtual high-fives.

It was beautiful to witness.

The truth is, growth often happens more slowly than we expect.

Whether we're working on self-trust, boundaries, intuition, confidence, or simply showing up differently in our lives, the changes are often small and gradual.

Sometimes they're so gradual that we don't even notice them ourselves.

That's one of the gifts of community.

There are people to remind us how far we've come.

People to lift us up when we're struggling.

People to celebrate with us when we succeed.

People who understand the journey because they're walking one of their own.

And that kind of support is priceless.

Doors to Whispers of Knowing will be opening soon.

If you've been looking for a supportive community where you can explore intuition, self-trust, and personal growth alongside others on a similar path, make sure you're on the waitlist.

One question has come up repeatedly in my sessions One question has come up repeatedly in my sessions this week:

"What does your gut say?"

It's a simple question.

Yet often people struggle to answer it.

Not because they don't know.

But because their head is talking.

Other people's opinions are talking.

Fear is talking.

Past experiences are talking.

And all of that noise can make it difficult to hear themselves.

What I found fascinating this week is that a few people answered immediately.

No hesitation.

No overthinking.

No talking themselves out of it.

And every single time, their answer matched exactly what I was seeing but had not yet shared.

They already knew.

Sometimes the challenge isn't finding the answer.

It's quieting the noise long enough to hear it.

Doors to Whispers of Knowing will be opening soon.

If you'd like to strengthen your intuition, build self-trust, and learn to recognize your own inner knowing more clearly, make sure you're on the waitlist.

Some days just don't go as planned, and that's oka Some days just don't go as planned, and that's okay.

Today is one of those days.

This morning I got to take my grandson to nursery school. As we drove down the road singing his favorite song, I found myself reflecting on how different that drive was from when I was taking his father to the very same school.

Back then, I was often in a hurry.

His younger sibling needed to be somewhere.

His older sibling needed to be picked up.

There was always another appointment, another activity, another place I needed to be.

This morning felt different.

There was no rushing.

No looking at the clock.

Just singing songs, talking about our day, and enjoying the drive.

It reminded me how easy it is to get caught up in what's next and miss what's right in front of us.

Today, I'm grateful for the slower pace and the opportunity to enjoy a simple moment that years ago I might have rushed right through.

Sometimes the gift isn't having more time.

It's noticing the time we already have.

At some point, I realized there were a lot of rule At some point, I realized there were a lot of rules I was following that nobody was actually enforcing.

I should explain myself.

I should keep everyone happy.

I should say yes.

I should push through.

I should handle it all on my own.

I should keep doing things the way I've always done them.

The interesting thing about these rules is that we often accept them without ever questioning them.

Until one day we do.

And that one question can change everything:

Who says?

Because many of the rules we live by were inherited.

Learned.

Absorbed.

Not chosen.

One of the most freeing things I've learned is that I am allowed to update the rules.

And so are you.

What is one "should" you're starting to question?

One of the biggest misconceptions I see when worki One of the biggest misconceptions I see when working with clients and students is they often think confidence comes first.

They think:

Once I feel confident, I'll set the boundary.

Once I feel confident, I'll speak up.

Once I feel confident, I'll trust myself.

Once I feel confident, I'll try something new.

But confidence rarely works that way.

Most confident people became confident because they took action before they felt ready.

They had the conversation.

They set the boundary.

They tried the thing.

They survived.

And every time they did, they gathered evidence that they were capable.

Confidence isn't usually the beginning of the story.

It's the result of repeatedly showing up for yourself.

If you're ready to build more self-trust and confidence in a grounded, everyday way, the Whispers of Knowing waitlist is open.

There is nothing I appreciate more than pet owners There is nothing I appreciate more than pet owners who are genuinely doing their best for the animals in their lives.

A recent animal communication session reminded me of something I see quite often.

Animals are incredibly sensitive to what is happening around them.

They notice our emotions.
They notice changes in the household.
They notice when routines shift.
And sometimes they pick up on things we don't even realize we're carrying ourselves.

In this particular session, part of what we uncovered was that the animal was responding to energy and emotions within the home that weren't being openly discussed.

Nobody was doing anything wrong.

There was simply more happening beneath the surface than anyone realized.

Once we understood what the animal was experiencing, everything started making more sense.

One of the things I love most about animal communication is that sometimes the answers we're searching for aren't about training, behavior, or fixing a problem.

Sometimes they are simply about understanding each other a little better.
